Multicystic Kidney

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

            Male 1 month old. Antenatally renal ultrasound showed left kidney with multiple cysts and low residual parenchyma concluding left multicystic dysplasia. Right kidney with possible duplication, but otherwise, normal. Echocardiography, patent foramen ovale and in closing ductus arteriosus. A renal scintigraphy was requested to assess remnant parenchymal function. Study was done with 2 mCi 99mTc-DMSA. Note absent left kidney, typical finding in this condition. Right kidney is moderately enlarged with normal function and homogeneous tracer distribution.
