99mTc-DMSA is concentrated in the kidney, by the tubules in approximately 50%, being stable from 2 h to 24 h after injection. The remaining ix excreted via glomerular filtration and tubular secretion. Thus, excellent parenchyma images can be obtained to detect acute and chronic compromise.
